ociety reporters NG just learnt that the publisher of the popular daily prayer booklet Our Daily Manna, and the General Overseer of Manna Mountain (INTERDENOMINATIONAL) in Ogudu and LEKKI Lagos Nigeria, Bishop Dr Chris Kwakpovwe, and other prominent Nigerians were weeks ago honoured with Delta State Icon Merit Award by Corporate & Media Africa Communications Limited, in collaboration with the Delta State Directorate of Culture and Tourism, in commemoration of Delta State 25th Anniversary, the event which took place at the Orchid Hotel, Asaba, Delta State, draw dignitaries from all spheres of life, including cooperate bodies.

Speaking at the official unveiling of the Delta State Compendium of Honour/ Presentation of Delta Icons /Merit Award, the Editor-in-Chief/ Executive Coordinator of Corporate & Media Africa Communcations Limited, Mr Alex Omordia said that, the Delta State Compendium of Delta Icons is meant to honour individuals, groups, and organizations from Delta State who have distinguished themselves in their various field and contributed immensely towards the development of the State and the country at large. He described the Awards as a celebration of people, places and value. He noted that Bishop Chris Kwakpovwe was honoured with this Delta Icon Merit award in recognition of his immense contribution to Christendom and Philanthropic activities through which he have impacted positively on humanity and also brought honour to Delta State.

He stressed that this Award was in recognition of these and other numerous achievements of the fishers of men.

In response, the ever vibrant man of God expressed gratitude to God for the honour bestowed to him and thanked the organisers of Delta Icons Merit Awards for finding him worthy and honouring him with this prestigious Delta Icon Merit Award. He noted that the Award is a call for futher and better representations of his people, and by extension the entire country. He dedicated the Award to God Almighty who he described as his strength and secret.

Other people who were honored at the event was the governor of the state, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, Mr. Michael Nwokolo, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), former Governor of the state, Emmanuel Uduaghan, General Ibrahim Babangida, Mr Jim Ovia, CBN Governor, Emelfiele, Tony Elumelu, among others.
