Crisis Rocks Lagos APC Over LG Poll.

The looming crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) over coming local government election is by no means coming to an end.

information reliably gathered from a very close source said that the party leaders has instructed 19 former LG Chairmen to return to their former positions without any primary elections, and the party members at local levels totally rejected this instruction, insisting that internal democracy must be sustained.

We visited some affected local government/LCDA to find out more on the situation and the outcome is not pleasant at all, as party loyalists at the grass root level has vowed to leave the party if primary elections do not hold in their constituencies.

Apostle Toba Oke is said to have come back as the LG Chairman without any primaries, though some party loyalist accepted him back, the minority said capital No to his development, insisting that he and other contestants should go for primaries.

Agboyi/Ketu

At Agboyi Ketu, they lost the chairman who was supposed to return to his former position, and so now the party loyalist wants primary elections to be held or they would use the former SLG Mr Dele Osinowo.

Ikosi/Isheri.

There is a thug of war in this area, as party members completely rejected Oyesanya Abdulfatai to return as chairman. In fact about 70℅ of party members have vowed to do all within their capacity to make sure he does not return as the Chairman in that LCDA.

Ogba/Ojodu LCDA.

This is another LCDA where the party has said Oloro the former chairman must not return. It was terrible experience last Tuesday in Ogba when aggrieved party members resisted some alleged attempts to impose Oloro as chairmanship candidate for the LCDA.

Our reporter, who was at the scene barely escaped being injured as chairs and other items were freely used to attack the agents of leaders who are bent on imposing the said Mr Julius Oloro on them.

Party members sustained injuries, while others scampered for safety, 3 people were admitted in an undisclosed hospital within the area.

Policemen from Area G, Ogba were later drafted to the scene to stop the violence.

Pictures from the scene in Ogba is attached to this story.

Efforts is in process to speak with the LG party chairman, Hon. Kelvin Ajakaye and a source close to him said he will speak with journalists after due clearance from the state Chairman of APC, Otunba Henry Ajomale.

However, we will also look for a way to talk to Chief Henry Ajomale on the latest crisis rocking the party.

In latest developments, a strong party member in the state who does not want his name in print, said, “They have started what led to the loss of some local governments in the 2015 elections, because they do not want primary elections. We want members to freely elect whoever should represent them at the local government levels, but they don’t want popular people; they want to impose their preferred candidates. And, we will not agree to this evil plan.” he said.
