As Nigeria joins the rest world to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitri, marking the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, popular Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi has congratulated Islamic faithful on the successful completion of the fasting season, reminding them that it is a fulfillment of God’s injunction.
In a statement from the Elegushi’s Palace, the monarch stated that the sacrifices and piety associated with the Holy Month, is a reminder to all Muslims on the need to show compassion, love and tolerance to one another, as well as other faiths and he noted that this was demonstrated throughout the period.
Oba Elegushi added that the good deeds and values shared during the holy month should be sustained, even as the season ends, noting that these are the necessary tonic needed to promote peaceful co-existence amongst all Nigerians.
He charged Muslims to continue to live in harmony with their neighbours and obey the laws of the land, expressing confidence that the challenges confronting the nation will be a thing of the past in no time.
