The Minister for Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has appointed Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, as the new Group Managing Director for the Abuja Investment Company Limited.
A statement from the Minister’s Office released to the media in Abuja, Thursday, says that the appointment takes immediate effect.
The statement said Tamuno is an “experienced public officer, entrepreneur, and diplomat”, who was Nigerian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Belize, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.
Oftentimes, the woman Tamuno, has proven her stewardship to the selfless cause, having served in different capacities.
Before her position as an ambassador, Tamuno has held several positions, including her tenure as a top lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly. Her beautiful story as the representative of her people in the Ogubolo Constituency remains one still being told in glowing terms.
Following her appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Jamaica in 2021, Tamuno immediately hit the ground running by showcasing herself as a perfect embodiment of panache and progressive diplomacy. Since then, she has proved beyond any doubt that she knows her onion very well by taking her assignment seriously as if she was born for the job.
She was always in the news for positive reasons and gradually established herself as a thoroughbred diplomat, while at the same time rewriting Nigeria’s diplomatic relationship with Jamaica in a positive note.
So, it is not surprising that her new appointment from the FCT minister has received applause and commendations from those that know her worth. Deservedly, she has been showered with encomium from her fans and admirers that spoke about her in glowing terms.
