The wife of the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is dead. The deceased, Hajia Zainab Ibrahim Idris served as the First Lady during the period her husband presided over the affairs of the state. Hajia Zainab, who died early this week,, was said to have been battling with health problems that kept her away from the public since her husband left office in January 2012.
Some sources have speculated that she died of cancer as she was believed to have been diagnosed of cancer of the breast, and which had seen her lose come under the surgeon’s knife even before she died. She was believed to have been diagnosed even while her husband was still in Government House as the Governor of the state. Aged 60, the deceased was the mother of Mohammed Ibrahim Idris, the former Governor’s son, who is presently a member of the House of Representatives.
