Actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has stated that he sold some of his property to fund the trending movie Jagun Jagun and does not regret his decision.
The 44-year-old revealed this on Wednesday during an interview following a visit by City People publisher Seye Kehinde.
“It was extremely challenging on Jagun Jagun set and at a point, I was out of finance. I believed so much this project would work so I went out, sold my properties and I believed it will sell and it actually did so I didn’t regret selling my property to finish Jagun Jagun,” Femi said.
The movie tells the story of ancient warriors, kings and a cruel warlord who feels threatened by a determined young warrior seeking only power and the love of a strong woman.
Co-directed by Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani, the cast includes Lateef Adedimeji, Bukunmi Oluwasina, Muyiwa Ademola, Odunlade Adekola, Adebayo Salami, Yinka Quadri, Ibrahim Yekini Itele, Fathia Williams, Debo Adebayo among others.
The movie began airing on Netflix on August 10 after its private screening in the Lekki area of Lagos the previous day.
Femi also spoke on the commendations he has been getting over Jagun Jagun after he outdid his 2022 hit movie King of Thieves.
He said, “I was confident that I would beat King of Thieves but now I have to beat Jagun Jagun and that’s more of a nightmare I’ve been having since the release of Jagun Jagun but I believe in God because I only get better.”
