I saw an easier route to fame, money and passion in skitmaking -Ipallytalker

Published

Inspired by hunger, popular content creator, filmmaker and prankster, Ipalimote Dayagha Gabriel also known as Ipallytalker has confessed that he has benefitted immensely from skitmaking as the art has given him money, fame and connection.

Bayelsa – born Ipalimote who started his career professionally in 2012, working as a production assistant in Asaba movie location, later moved on to becoming an editor then later started acting a few roles. In 2019, he formed a then trending comedy group ITK CONCEPTS which existed for two years.

Talking about his passion for skitmaking as well as challenges, the graduate of Theatre arts, Niger Delta university says; “Skit making started as passion for me, far back as at 2011, I would actually be begging directors for roles in films till skits became a big thing in the world. Right now I can’t stop thinking of one skit idea or the other, that’s not because of the money involved but I also want to through my skits, contribute my own quota to the society. Consistency with God’s grace made me start getting paid for skits and today, I create skits for both money and passion.

Promotion is one basic problem in skitmaking, one needs his or her contents to be more seen and more visible to a wider audience but the cost of promotion is quite expensive but we haven’t stopped putting one or two efforts to get seen. We are still promoting and advertising so as to keep the fire burning.”

Continuing, the comic art explained why he left movie production to shooting skits and future projection of his brand.

“The entertainment industry is moving really fast on a jet. People are diversifying and people want to explore. The movie industry itself already has a difficult break point and it takes more years of hard work, persistent and consistency to blow up in the movie industry while the skit business is quite easier especially if you have great contents and can afford promotion. In a short while you should be sure of an head way while creating skits. So to answer your question, I saw a an easier route to fame, money and passion and I followed it
In 5 years, I would be a super star, one worth of admirations and would be an inspiration to the younger generation. What we pray for is long life and good health. Definitely every other thing will come forth.”
