The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested and detained Halima Shehu, the National Co-ordinator and Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the alleged laundering of N37,170,855,753.44 in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development under former Minister Sadiya Umar-Farouk.
According to reports, EFCC agents invaded the NSIPA office at the Federal Secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday about 9 a.m. and drove Shehu to the EFCC offices in Jani, Abuja.
On Tuesday night, she was still being detained and interrogated.
