Olori Sekinat Elegushi, the much loved queen of Ikateland. To say that queen Sekinat holds a Bachelor in Science Degree in Accountancy from the prestigious university of Lagos.
Olori Sekinat is not only a beautiful woman but one who believes in the dignity of labour, it is very evident in the way she quickly got a job with Marbell Nigeria Limited. She learnt every secret of running a business from that organization and proceeded to register her company SEKSAH Nigeria Limited.
She was determined to not only face the business world but also to succeed in it, thus she opened her first venture ‘Kids and Things’ a retail outlet for children.
Having succeeded in the retail outlet, she got her first commercial interior design contract after a family friend who was impressed with the interiors of her Carlton estate home (which she designed). Olori has a rare talent with home design and decoration and this helped her spot a huge gap within the hospitality industry and she stepped in to fill the vacuum with Queens Park and Lounge, a family leisure beach.
Her huge Investment in the fashion industry has supported the Governments actualization of ‘buy made in Nigeria’, promoting the industry and to contribute to increase employment numbers.
She has an education Trust that is responsible for children’s education within the Kingdom.
A custodian of Arts and Culture, she supports a number of artists and is a huge fan of the renowned Nike Art gallery. Advocate for women and youth empowerment: She supports the International Women’s Society(IWS) Skills Centre in Ikate Kingdom. She was at the recent 17th gradation of over 120 students of the skills centre, where she donated several prizes to best graduating students in some of the categories and a cup to the overall graduating student. In her message to encourage the students the queen said ‘You may have graduated today but you will never graduate from learning. You will go through many ups and downs but it is the skills you have acquired that will be the pillar you can always lean on’
