Popular Juju musician, Sunday Ojajuni, popularly known as SoulWinner has admitted that Juju genre of Yoruba music is no longer enjoying the needed promotion like it was in the past.
Soulwinner said unlike in the hey days of musicians like Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, IK Dairo and Dele Abiodun, Juju music does not enjoy premium promotion, both on the media and off the media.
Soulwinner was speaking during the unveiling of plans for his Album listening party, which he said will be commemorated with the launch of his latest album.
The juju musician said all efforts by contemporary juju musicians must be commended but there was need to do more.
According to Soulwinner, the album launch is another attempt in the effort of bringing juju music into the consciousness of fun-lovers and to draw attention of traditional media like Lagos Television to the beautiful genre. He said that was the reason he decided to host the event at Lounge 1508, at Otunba Jobi fele way, Alausa Ikeja lagos.
The event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday 21st December 2022 at the Lounge 1508, Otunba Jobi fele way, CBD Alausa Ikeja Lagos starting with a red carpet by 4pm and the main event by 5pm.
