SENATOR DEMOLA ADELEKE’S GROWING INFLUENCE

By:Sinmiloluwa Fadoju

When the news of the demise of his elder sibling, Late Senator IsiakaAdeleke ‘Serubawon’ broke, it came as a big shock to many in the country. The whole Osun state was thrown into a sober mood, over the loss of it’s illustrious son and great philanthropist. His seat at the National Assembly was declared vacant as a by-election must be conducted to fill the lacuna left by the first Executive Governor of Osun State.

Senator NurudeenAdemolaAdeleke was presented as the candidate to conclude his elder sibling’s term at the Red Chambers. After much melo-drama and political banters being thrown within the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, AdemolaAdeleke opted to run under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Luckily for the chubby light skinned man, providence granted him his heart desire, people came out massively to vote for him, as he was declared the winner of the Osun West Senatorial District by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, with a wide margin against the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate.

After being sworn in by the leadership of the senate as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he is fast becoming a political force to reckon with in Osun state. Ademola upheld his late brothers philanthropic legacies and has been fulfilling his campaign promises to his constituents. His endearing growing influence in the Osun state politics can’t be overlooked as he has gathered love from the grass-root and electorate in his constituency and Osun state at large.

We gathered from a reliable source that; ‘’The leadership of the ruling APC has been allegedly holding secret meeting with Senator Ademola. They want him back to the party, so as to aid their successful outing at the 2018 governorship election in Osun state, banking on the influence of senator Ademola’’. The sources further divulged that; ‘’From all indication and political permutations, it’s likely for the Senator Adeleke to switch allegiance and defect to the ruling APC before the second quarter of this year’’. Only time will be the umpire weather Ademola will remain at the PDP or defect.
